Suihua University was founded in 1953. In 1978, Suihua Teachers College was established. In 2004, Suihua University was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is the only normal university in Suihua City. In recent years, it has been repeatedly recognized by the state with the National Excellent Teaching Achievements for Regular Colleges and Universities, National Civilization Unit and Outstanding Achievements in the Campus Culture Construction for National Colleges and Universities.

The university has 12 schools (departments) with 41 undergraduate majors, covering eight disciplines, including pedagogy, literature, science, engineering, agronomy, economics, management and art. The total number of the faculty and staff is 821, of whom 522 are full-time teachers, 517 doctoral degree or master degree graduates, and 7 foreign teachers. The university holds 11,409 full-time undergraduates from 21 provinces and 42 foreign students. The university covers an area of 400,000 square meters, with a total floor space of more than 225,000 square meters. The total value of teaching equipment is 115 million yuan. The university library boasts a collection of 1.01 million volumes.

The university adheres to international education, and has established friendly and cooperative relations with more than 20 universities and educational institutions in Russia, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Italy, Canada, the United States and Taiwan to carry out inter-school exchanges and cooperation and exchange students.

1.Applicants should be foreigners who have good character, good health, abide by Chinese laws and regulations and school rules and regulations, and respect Chinese people's customs and habits.

2.Students, studying for Bachelor’s Degree,who have not learned Chinese before entering the school or whose Chinese proficiency is not up to the requirements for professional study,shall study basic Chinese for one to two years after entering the school. After study, students can enter the professional study only after their Chinese proficiency reaches the prescribed standard.

3.The common advanced student requests to have certain Chinese foundation. After entering a school, the school classics will set up the Chinese remedial class according to theirChinese level.

1.The scholarship will be assessed once per academic year (semester). Students will be awarded the scholarship according to their attendance, class performance and test scores. There is no scholarship for short-term trainees.

2.The scope of scholarship is within 30 percent of the number of self-funded international students.

3.Scholarships will be awarded in proportion to the actual number of international students.
